Stand8 Technology Consulting provides end-to-end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States. As a Platform Engineer, you will design, build, and operate production cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure, implementing Infrastructure as Code and providing operational support for critical platform services.
Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and evolve Azure-based cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code with Pulumi
- Implement and manage onboarding and landing zones, subscription and resource group organization, networking, and role-based access control within Azure
- Design, configure, and operate Okta single sign-on and multi-factor authentication integrations, including SCIM provisioning and OIDC/SAML identity flows
- Provide L2 and L3 operational support for platform incidents, including investigation, triage, root cause analysis, remediation, and implementation of long-term fixes
- Participate in on-call rotations to support platform availability and reliability
- Automate operational tasks and runbooks using scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Go
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure delivery using tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions for platform services using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related tooling
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to implement required controls and documentation supporting federal compliance initiatives
- Partner with engineering, product, and security teams to design resilient, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures
- Produce clear architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational documentation, and mentor junior engineers
- Participate in architecture and design reviews and recommend improvements to platform performance, security posture, and cost optimization
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship (required for this role)
- 2-5 years' experience delivering and operating cloud infrastructure or equivalent platform support with demonstrated L2 and L3 operational ownership
- Strong production experience with Microsoft Azure, including compute, networking, storage, identity, and governance services
- Hands-on experience authoring and managing Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi
- Experience configuring Okta single sign-on and multi-factor authentication, including SCIM provisioning and identity flows
- Demonstrated experience providing L2 and L3 support for platform services, including incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation
- Solid scripting or programming skills using Python, PowerShell, or Go
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in distributed and cloud-based systems
- Experience with CI/CD systems for infrastructure and application delivery
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create and maintain operational documentation and runbooks
- Ability to operate effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous environment and participate in cross-functional technical discussions
- Experience supporting Federal Government environments or operating within Azure Government
- Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, ITAR, or Department of Defense cloud requirements
- Experience with container platforms and Kubernetes, including Azure Kubernetes Service
- Familiarity with cloud network design concepts such as virtual network peering, network security groups, load balancing, and security tooling
- Prior experience with additional Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Crossplane
