Software Engineering Intern - REMOTE

First American is a company dedicated to fostering a people-first culture and is offering internship programs to university students this summer. Interns will collaborate with a team of engineers and product managers to propose ideas, implement solutions, and gain hands-on experience in software engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a dynamic and supportive team of backend and frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and DevOps engineers
• Propose ideas, implement solutions, experiment, and launch features to First American’s users and customers
• Influence engineers, teams, and product managers across the organization to shape the full product lifecycle
• Maintain high standards in sustainable engineering by following best practices and delivering high-quality code, documentation, testing, and monitoring
• Gain hands-on experience with technologies such as C#, TypeScript, Python, React, NestJS, SQL, NoSQL, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS services
• Use industry-standard tools like GitHub, Slack, Jira, Confluence, and LaunchDarkly

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree at an accredited university
• Must be majoring in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
• Prior exposure to best practices through hackathons, design challenges, university projects, or previous internships
• Available full-time, 8-10 weeks for internship starting in early June 2026 and ending in August/September 2026
