Web & Digital Interface Designer – AI Research Project (Remote)

The UVA VEC is seeking experienced Web and Digital Interface Designers to contribute to a long-term AI research initiative. In this role, you will design and review web and digital interface scenarios, applying UX/UI principles to improve advanced AI systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and review web and digital interface scenarios based on real professional workflows
• Translate design thinking into structured problem sets and evaluation materials
• Apply UX/UI principles to ensure realism, usability, and professional accuracy
• Contribute insights around layout systems, interaction design, accessibility, and design tradeoffs
• Work independently within clear research guidelines

Requirements:

• 4+ years of full-time experience as a Web or Digital Interface Designer
• Regularly work with interface systems, interaction design, and usability principles
• Can clearly explain design decisions and rationale
• Are comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Are currently based in the US, UK, or Canada
