Community Health Systems is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer who will design, develop, configure, and implement cybersecurity solutions to address technical and business challenges. This role involves assessing risks, identifying vulnerabilities, and improving the organization's security posture through various cybersecurity functions.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, configures, implements, and troubleshoots cybersecurity technologies and processes of intermediate complexity
- Monitors cybersecurity platforms, responds to intermediate-level security events, and recommends appropriate actions
- Supports the expansion of cybersecurity controls, detection methods, and monitoring strategies
- Assists with maintaining compliance with NIST standards, including NIST 800-53, and contributes to internal control documentation
- Identifies process inefficiencies and proposes modifications to enhance security effectiveness and operational efficiency
- Develops and maintains documentation for security processes, configurations, and technical solutions
- Collaborates with technology, business, and audit partners to address compliance risks and support audit remediation efforts
- Provides technical guidance to associate-level engineers and contributes to team knowledge development
- Participates in incident response activities, root cause analyses, and problem-solving for security events and vulnerabilities
- Supports scheduled engineering events and participates in 24x7 incident response rotations as needed
- Contributes to product and capability roadmaps, supporting intermediate security strategies and initiatives
- Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- H.S. Diploma or GED required
- 2-4 years of cybersecurity, technology, or related experience required
- Associate Degree or higher in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
- 4-6 years of cybersecurity, technology, or related experience preferred
- Industry certifications such as Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CISM, CISSP, GIAC, OSCP, or ITIL preferred
