General Dynamics Information Technology is a global technology and professional services company that delivers consulting, technology, and mission services to U.S. government agencies. They are seeking a Software Engineer to work on the MARSHAL project, developing capabilities for the Navy’s weather application suite, focusing on Java and React JS development in a Scrum Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Transform technology into opportunity as a Software Engineer at GDIT
- Shape what’s next for mission-critical government projects while shaping what’s next for your engineering career
- Work on rapid R&D development of capabilities of the MARSHAL project transitioning into the Navy’s leading weather application suite: Naval Integrated Tactical Environmental System – Next Generation (NITES-Next)
- Work on an active Scrum Agile development team
- Use a continuous integration environment (CIE) and a DevSecOps environment
- Deploy in both web services model and with a container and micro services based architecture
Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance
- 5 + years of related experience
- US Citizenship Required
- Experience: 5 years of Java and React JS Development experience
- Geospatial development and experience with applications that have some display on a map
- Knowledge/experience with any of the other technologies listed, domain experience in Meteorological and Oceanographic (METOC) / Weather, or Navy Command and Control
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
