The Risk Analytics Engineering team at Block delivers data-driven insights and infrastructure that power regulatory excellence, risk management, and compliance operations, focusing on building robust data pipelines and advanced analytics models.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-team initiatives to build scalable, widely used data pipelines that drive insights across the organization and support regulatory decision-making
- Build on and promote an effective data strategy, including developing processes, policy, and infrastructure to help standardize compliance and risk metric definitions
- Develop and own key components of the data pipeline, both creating new and optimizing existing data models, translating compliance signals and regulatory requirements to analytical insights
- Collaborate with stakeholders, platform/tooling teams, and compliance partners to build scalable data solutions that drive regulatory response and risk mitigation
- Enable others to efficiently manage data assets by building automation tooling, self-serve reporting tools, and reusable data solutions that make it simpler and faster to work with compliance data
Requirements:
- Background/knowledge in Computer Science, Applied Math, Engineering, Statistics, or something comparable
- 7+ years of industry experience building complex, scalable ETLs for a variety of different business and product use cases
- A strategic mindset that drives technical excellence while building consensus with multiple stakeholders and partners
- An interest in advancing Block's mission of economic empowerment through trust and transparency - this should be something that legitimately excites you
- Experience with financial data and/or compliance/regulatory reporting preferred
