About this role
Kentik is the network intelligence platform for modern infrastructure teams, seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for their KDE Storage Team. The role involves co-owning, designing, and scaling a high-performance storage layer for network monitoring data, collaborating with various teams to enhance network observability features.
Responsibilities:
- Help define and lead the execution of a multi-year technical roadmap for KDE Storage services and achieve industry-leading query speeds
- Collaborate with other engineering, support, and sales teams to drive platform-wide storage standards
- Solve high-visibility, challenging engineering problems related to data-intensive platform storage
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in backend development using Go/C/Rust, with a strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and high-throughput data pipelines
- Experience with Timeseries Databases, especially the storage layer, is a big plus
- Experience with object storage or distributed filesystems
- Experience designing tiered storage strategies (Hot/Warm/Cold) and TTL-based data eviction at scale
- A passion to grow personally and contribute to our team
