The role involves designing and implementing advanced automation solutions to enhance IT infrastructure operations, developing automation systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive automation initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design and implementation of advanced automation solutions to enhance IT infrastructure operations
- Develop and maintain automation systems using object-oriented programming languages, leveraging modern IDEs such as Cursor for efficient development
- Utilize AWS cloud services to build scalable and efficient infrastructure automation systems
- Apply expertise in Linux systems to script and automate operations effectively
- Use knowledge of networking concepts and technologies, including load balancers, firewalls, and network protocols, to develop robust automation solutions
- Implement configuration automation with open source tools like Ansible and Terraform to streamline deployment processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive automation initiatives and integrate solutions across various technological areas
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a similar discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
- Proficiency in programming using an object-oriented programming language, such as Rust, Java or Python
- Understanding of Linux systems and system operations automation
- Familiarity with networking concepts and technologies
- Basic knowledge of configuration automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Familiarity with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, Route53, IAM
- Understanding of messaging buses such as Kafka and RabbitMQ
- Experience with relational databases and non-relational stores, such as Postgres, Elasticsearch, MongoDB
- Strong software design skills
- Knowledge of monitoring tools, such as, Grafana, Prometheus, and DataDog
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
