HCLTech is one of the fastest-growing global technology companies, and they are seeking an experienced SME – Structured Cabling to help define and govern global standards for next-generation data center connectivity. The role involves leading global standards for fiber and copper cabling infrastructure, ensuring high-performance and scalable connectivity across data centers.
Responsibilities:
- Define global structured cabling standards covering topology, routing, pathways, and component selection
- Lead architectures for AI fabrics, GPU clusters, spine-leaf, and high-speed interconnects
- Ensure design-to-deployment alignment across global data center projects
- Evaluate readiness for emerging network speeds (400G/800G+) with OEM partners
- Standardize labeling, documentation, testing, and certification practices
- Publish reusable backbone and high-density cabling design templates
- Validate vendor components for quality, interoperability, and lifecycle support
- Conduct audits and design assurance reviews for large-scale deployments
- Continuously update standards to incorporate new fiber classes, connectors, and technologies
- Provide expert guidance for complex or non-standard cabling requirements
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in DC cabling design/implementation
- Strong expertise in both fiber and copper cabling technologies
- Deep understanding of spine–leaf architectures, MMR, and cross-connect designs
- Experience managing multi-region standardization and consistency programs
- Knowledge of operational impacts (MACD, labeling, maintenance lifecycle)
- Excellent documentation and governance skills
- Strong knowledge of TIA‑942 and related cabling standards
- OEM certifications (CommScope, Corning, Panduit, Siemon)
