Altera is seeking a Field Sales Engineer to enable and support their authorized distribution partners in generating demand and closing sales within a specified geographic territory. The role involves driving sales activities, managing partner relationships, and ensuring the local distribution branches are equipped and motivated to drive Altera's business.
Responsibilities:
- Own sales budget targets for metrics like new opportunities uncovered, new design wins, and revenue growth at the accounts within the specified geographic territory
- Drive all sales activities at the accounts classified as 'distributor-led' within the territory
- Facilitate branch trainings
- Regularly attend joint customer visits
- Lead promotional activities
- Maintain partner relationships
- Drive opportunity visibility
- Accelerate technical support coordination
- Manage issue resolution through collaboration with marketing, operations, applications engineering, and other supporting roles
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technology field
- 5+ years experience in technical sales
- Experience with FPGA/SoC or ASIC design
- Experience with any programmable logic or other specialized processing elements (microprocessors, GPU, CPU, etc.)
- Experience working with major tech distributor(s) (e.g. Arrow Electronics, Macnica)
- Experience working with tech design firm(s)
- Experience navigating and maintaining a CRM tool like Salesforce
