About this role
Siemens is a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare. They are seeking a motivated Application Engineer to join their Sales Acceleration team, where the role involves driving automation sales success by providing technical support and expertise in automation solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical lead on automation opportunities, guiding customers and sales teams through solution development
- Provide application-level support for Siemens automation products (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Drives, Industrial Networks)
- Conduct discovery meetings with customers to understand project requirements and identify the best-fit solutions
- Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations and proof-of-concept configurations
- Create technical documentation such as system architecture diagrams, configuration notes, and BOMs
- Applies acquired process, product and/or equipment knowledge based on current industry trends, best practices, performance, price, and functionality
- Performs complex hardware and/or software design consultation in accordance with customer/project needs
- Works closely with Account Managers and Sales Specialists to achieve sales and market growth
- Resolves very complex technical problems to meet customers' needs. Acts as one escalation point for major customer technical issues when on-site issue resolution is required
- Supports marketing and knowledge transfer through participation on at least one technology core team
- Provides periodic knowledge transfer events with channel partners in coordination with the Channel Account Manager
- Supports our channel on opportunities in collaboration with the channel application engineer and sales team
- Generates technical collateral such as application notes and examples for reuse by others
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in automation/motion control systems and demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as described above
- Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
- Bachelor of Science in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering or computer science
- Qualified to work in the US now and in the future without sponsorship of any kind
