Apolis is a company focused on providing advanced cloud solutions, and they are seeking a Strategic Cloud Engineer to help organizations design and optimize Google Cloud networking solutions. This role involves engaging with customers to guide network architecture decisions, designing end-to-end networking solutions, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, guiding network architecture decisions for hybrid, multicloud, and on‑premises connectivity using Google Cloud
- Lead technical discussions, architecture workshops, and solution design sessions focused on Network Connectivity Center (NCC) hub‑and‑spoke models
- Align customer networking requirements with Google Cloud best practices and supported connectivity patterns, including VPC, hybrid, and gateway spokes
- Design end‑to‑end networking solutions leveraging Network Connectivity Center to centrally manage connectivity across: Google Cloud VPC networks, On‑premises environments, Other cloud providers
- Advise on appropriate use of Cloud VPN, Cloud Interconnect, router appliance spokes, and NCC Gateway based on customer needs
- Define routing, segmentation, and connectivity strategies that balance performance, security, and operational simplicity
- Guide customers on integrating security service edge (SSE) solutions using NCC Gateway for secure user‑to‑application and cross‑cloud traffic flows
- Support customers in understanding NCC access control, permissions, and shared VPC considerations when operating at scale
- Partner with Google Cloud sales, product, and specialist teams to drive successful customer outcomes
- Provide feedback to product teams based on customer use cases, architectural challenges, and field insights related to NCC
- Contribute to internal enablement through documentation, best practices, and reusable reference architectures
- Support proofs of concept (PoCs) and pilots demonstrating NCC‑based connectivity architectures
- Help customers plan migrations and transitions from legacy network topologies to NCC‑managed architectures
- Assist customers in operational readiness by explaining observability, logging, and troubleshooting concepts available within NCC and related services
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong experience designing or supporting enterprise networking architectures, including routing, segmentation, and hybrid connectivity
- Hands‑on knowledge of Google Cloud networking concepts, such as VPCs, routing, VPNs, and interconnect technologies
- Experience working in customer‑facing technical roles (e.g., solution architecture, cloud engineering, technical consulting)
- Experience designing or advising on hub‑and‑spoke network architectures in cloud or hybrid environments
- Familiarity with Network Connectivity Center, including VPC spokes, hybrid spokes, router appliances, and NCC Gateway
- Understanding of multicloud networking and enterprise WAN transformation patterns
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex networking concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences
