Best Egg is a market-leading, tech-enabled financial platform helping people build financial confidence through a variety of installment lending solutions. The Data Platform Engineer II will lead the design, development, and scaling of data platform capabilities, ensuring reliability and alignment with best engineering standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and deploy data platform components across Snowflake, AWS, and the broader technology stack
- Architect, implement, and support data capabilities including automations, integrations, interfaces, and underlying infrastructure
- Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and repeatable data delivery
- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to ensure the availability, quality, and performance of data assets
- Serve as a data leader, data champion and subject‑matter expert for engineering, product, and business teams, providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and solve complex technical and data‑related challenges
- Ensure adherence to security, privacy, and compliance standards, including SOC2 and PCI‑DSS
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in data management and ETL/ELT development, with a strong focus on building high‑quality, scalable data products
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, serverless architectures, and containerized workloads (e.g., Docker)
- Strong background in DevOps practices, automation, and modern deployment workflows
- Experience with configuration management tools
- Proven experience designing, building, and maturing data products and data platform capabilities
- Experience working across both on‑premises data environments and cloud‑first architectures
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities
- Experience with Snowflake
- Experience with Monte Carlo – Observability Tool
- Experience with AWS 'serverless' technologies (e.g. lambda, step functions, fargate)
- Knowledge of GitHub products (actions, workspaces, secrets, etc)
