GE Aerospace is a leading company in the aerospace sector, seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to manage and coordinate delivery projects within the Supplier Performance & Execution Sourcing Section. The role involves organizing multi-functional teams to improve product delivery, resolving technical issues with suppliers, and driving cost reduction efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Engineering focal for assigned supplier base. Expected to own the technical performance of multiple suppliers so supplier travel will be frequent (25-50%)
- Proactively identifies delivery barriers and resolves with fulfilment, commercial and quality team members. Is recognized as a critical team member by supplier or commodity
- Acts as a Project Manager for large complex suppliers along with others
- Has manufacturing expertise across multiple related part families and processes, along with deep domain expertise
- Guides and influences suppliers’ performance based on manufacturing expertise
- Actively drives cost reduction efforts within assigned supply base and is proactively engaged in addressing cost issues
- Active in supplier selection based on value. Partners with commercial owners to ensure supplier selection provides desired value
- Supports source changes as needed and develops lower performing suppliers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Manufacturing)
- At least 8 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Production Management
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
- Expertise in programming or mechanically supporting traditional (milling, turning, broach, weld) and/or non-traditional (EDM, 3D printing) machining methods
- Souring, Shop Operations, or Production Control expertise
- Manufacturing Experience in Aerospace or Automotive a plus
