DLB Associates is a company that helps organizations navigate technology solutions. The Cloud Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing secure, scalable solutions across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, translating business requirements into architectures, and ensuring effective system administration and support.
Responsibilities:
- Design, Implement, and Optimize: Configure Azure and M365 platforms for optimal performance, availability, and scalability
- Oversee Entra ID configurations, ensuring secure authentication, conditional access policies, and identity governance
- Manage M365 and Azure licensing, usage metrics, and resource allocation to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance
- Design conditional-access, Zero Trust network segmentation, Microsoft Defender, Purview, and policy-as-code controls
- Establish landing zones, management groups, and tagging/taxonomy standards; guide data-protection and regulatory alignment
- Evaluate emerging Azure/M365 capabilities, AI services, and DevOps practices; create proof‑of‑concepts and champion adoption where business value is clear
- Develop scripts and automation processes (e.g., PowerShell, Azure Automation) to streamline routine tasks and system processes
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, policies, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for internal reference and audits
- Lead workshops and training sessions for Operations and Support Technicians to ensure successful transition and long‑term maintainability
- Report on architecture KPI’s, security posture, and project milestones to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of Azure services (IaaS, App Service, AKS, Functions, SQL PaaS, Storage, Networking, AVD) and M365 security/compliance tools (Defender, Purview, Entra ID Protection)
- Proficiency in M365 applications (SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform) and Entra ID, including advanced configuration and administration
- Solid understanding of cloud security fundamentals (Zero Trust, conditional access, identity governance) and DevSecOps practices
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to translate business and development requirements into technical architectures and present solutions to executives, developers, and clients
- Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
- Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technology and adapting to evolving requirements
- Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 5 years of experience in Information Technology
