The Sourcing Manager role is pivotal for developing and executing sourcing strategies that optimize costs and enhance quality while managing supplier relationships and leading contract negotiations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies aimed at optimizing cost, quality, and supply reliability
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable contractual terms and conditions
- Manage and evaluate supplier performance through regular reviews, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and demand planning to forecast needs and align sourcing activities accordingly
- Design and oversee production planning strategies to maximize resource utilization and ensure on-time delivery of products
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process efficiencies, executing initiatives and tracking savings metrics
- Stay informed about market trends, emerging technologies, and supplier capabilities to maintain a competitive sourcing advantage
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of ingredients used in manufacturing, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement within the manufacturing industry
- Proven expertise in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and cost reduction strategies
- Strong understanding of ingredients used in manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of production planning and demand forecasting
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as CPSM or CSCP
