Reddit is a community of communities, built on shared interests and trust. The Ads Privacy team is seeking a Staff Engineer to define the technical vision for cross-organizational initiatives, focusing on regulatory compliance and user privacy in Ads.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and audit the current state of privacy in Ads, and architect solutions for critical initiatives
- Collaborate to form the long term technical vision and strategy for Ads Privacy for the next 2+ years
- Lead large cross-functional projects end to end, from concept, design, implementation, to rollout, ensuring the highest quality and performance
- Build a privacy platform that all teams in Ads can integrate with to access necessary data in a scalable and auditable fashion
- Collaborate with engineering leaders, data scientists, backend software engineers, fullstack engineers, as well as machine learning engineers. Also work closely with security, legal, and privacy XFN
- Mentor engineers and leaders, share industry knowledge, and contribute to the technical growth of the team
- Stay updated on state-of-the-art products and technologies, recognizing promising innovations, identifying gaps, and adapting them to Reddit's unique platform and community
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar STEM field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Deep familiarity with Ads privacy challenges (GDPR, CCPA, ePD, ATT, etc.) and experience delivering high Ads performance in line with privacy needs
- Capable of acting as an individual contributor who can design, implement, test, and launch complex product and infrastructure changes across the entire Ads stack
- Experience coordinating large-scale, cross-functional efforts that span different teams, and driving alignment between diverse stakeholders
- Experience leading strategic implementation and planning for risk and growth
- Has diverse Ads experience spanning (but not limited to) Optimization, Delivery, Targeting, Ranking, Bidding, Reporting, etc
- A strong understanding of industry trends in the Privacy Enhancing Technology space
- Experience with Go, Python, Scala or Javascript
- Understanding of ML development and principles
