They are seeking a highly motivated Staff Audit Accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, conduct comprehensive audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with IRS regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Evaluate financial information for discrepancies, irregularities, and potential risks, preparing detailed reports of findings
- Identify risk areas within clients' financial operations and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and other relevant documentation
- Support tax planning and compliance efforts, including the preparation and review of tax returns
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior staff members to enhance team capabilities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit procedures and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Coordinate with external auditors, manage audit schedules, and address any corrective actions required
- Stay updated with the latest changes in financial regulations, legislation, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and professional development
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in auditing, accounting, or a related area
- Comprehensive understanding of IRS regulations and risk management principles
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey financial information
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy in work outputs
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism at all times
- A Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus
