TE Connectivity is a global industrial technology leader creating a safer, sustainable, productive, and connected future. The Staff Power Integrity Engineer will be responsible for simulating, developing, implementing, and verifying power integrity solutions for high-speed data communication products, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support data center power solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, validate, and characterize power conversion and delivery systems for large compute infrastructure
- Develop power distribution products, such as cables, connectors, and bus bars, for 800+V, 20+kA server racks and data center applications
- Create simulation models, plan and execute simulation suites
- Correlate simulation results with measured lab data to validate models
- Work with vendors to specify, procure, and validate new designs
- Measure and characterize AC response, parasitic, and impedance of the power products
- Identify and resolve electrical issues by performing hands-on testing, debugging, and root cause analysis
- Prepare detailed documentation and reports to support product development and validation
- Drive high-value development projects that will require you to lead and interface with large groups
- Manage technical collaboration with customers and align internal development efforts to meet technical and functional requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience
- Experience using electrical design tools and software packages such as Ansys Q3D, Spice, Allegro, PowerDC
- Generally requires 8-10 years of electrical engineering work experience and 5+ years experience in power conversation and distribution
- Knowledge of voltage converter architectures
- Comfortable using different instruments such as network analyzer, oscilloscope, signal generator, scope and other related test equipment to measure the eye diagram
- The geographically dispersed group requires that the candidate be self-motivating with the ability to take the initiative to accomplish tasks with limited direction
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Effectively able to build relationships with external customers and industry leaders as well as internally across all levels, disciplines, and geographies
- Ability to spend 25%-30% of your time traveling
- Familiarity with High Voltage, 3-phase electrical systems is a plus
