Ciena is a global leader in high-speed connectivity, committed to a people-first approach. The Field Services Project Manager will deploy medium to large-scale EF&I projects, manage customer expectations, and ensure project delivery within budget and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy medium to large-scale EF&I projects with medium/high complexity, ensuring delivery within budget, schedule, and Ciena quality standards
- Manage customer expectations, communications, escalations, and governance throughout the project lifecycle
- Develop project schedules, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution
- Drive quality across all aspects of project services, from site and network engineering through installation, testing, and readiness for service
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective deployment activities
- Maintain project documentation, including schedules, financials, risks, and issues, ensuring transparency and alignment with project management plans
- Coach and guide junior team members to meet project deliverables and contribute to team success
Requirements:
- A technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 10 years of telecommunications industry operational experience and/or project implementation
- Minimum of 8 years in a lead role managing medium to large-scale projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- PMP certification preferred (required within one year of hire)
- Subsea deployment experience is a strong advantage
- Business and financial management skills, particularly in project-level P&L
- Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
- Familiarity with Ciena's products and technologies is a plus
