Responsibilities:
- Design, set up, and manage company-wide networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network hardware and software components
- Monitor network performance and integrity to ensure high data availability and optimal network functioning
- Implement and manage network security measures, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems, to safeguard company assets
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity problems
- Collaborate with network architects and other IT professionals to optimize system performance and scalability
- Develop and enforce policies for network asset management, including lifecycle management of hardware, software, and licenses
- Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance team capabilities and efficiency
- Participate in on-call support rotations to provide 24/7 network support as needed
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of network solutions and support organizational goals
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- A minimum of five years of proven experience as a Network Engineer in a similar role
- Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, or equivalent
- Thorough understanding of network infrastructure, hardware, and protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, FTP, and SNMP
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools
- Strong documentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Previous experience working for an ISP, Managed Services Provider, or in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment
