They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join a manufacturing team in Upstate New York, responsible for managing financial statements, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insights.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards
- Performing month-end close procedures such as account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
- Preparing and presenting comprehensive financial reports to senior management, offering insights and strategic recommendations based on financial data
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations
- Collaborating with various departments to streamline processes, improve operational efficiency, and support overall company objectives
- Managing and analyzing financial data using SAP software
- Providing financial guidance to the manufacturing team, particularly regarding cost management and profitability analysis
- Participating in special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses to support organizational growth and decision-making
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of senior accounting experience
- Experience within the manufacturing sector
- Familiarity in food manufacturing being a plus
- Proficiency in SAP or comparable ERP platforms
- Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and relevant financial regulations
- Strong analytical skills
