Nexus Consulting is seeking a Chemical Engineer to contribute subject matter expertise toward the development and refinement of advanced AI systems. In this remote role, you will apply real-world experience in chemical process engineering, safety compliance, and process optimization to ensure AI models accurately reflect industrial standards and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and document comprehensive safety procedures for chemical processes, ensuring alignment with OSHA, EPA, REACH, and other applicable regulatory standards
- Translate real-world chemical manufacturing scenarios into structured inputs for AI training and validation
- Troubleshoot complex chemical production systems and incorporate findings into AI learning datasets
- Analyze experimental and operational data to enhance model accuracy and process understanding
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to chemical processes, equipment performance, and operational efficiency
- Review equipment layouts and system designs for scalability, safety, and optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and AI teams to ensure technical accuracy and practical relevance
- Identify knowledge gaps in AI outputs and provide targeted subject matter guidance for continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline
- Strong background in chemical process engineering and industrial manufacturing systems
- Experience developing and implementing safety protocols in chemical environments
- Proficiency in data analysis and troubleshooting process inefficiencies
- Solid understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks (OSHA, EPA, REACH, etc.)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, technology-driven environment
- Experience contributing to AI model training, validation, or technical data annotation projects
- Background in process optimization initiatives or continuous improvement programs
- Experience collaborating across engineering, operations, and compliance teams
- Advanced degree or professional engineering licensure
