Transaction Network Services (TNS) provides mission-critical connectivity solutions to the global financial markets. They are seeking a Network Engineer to support real-time trading and market data connectivity across highly available global networks, focusing on routing, switching, multicast, automation, and packet-level troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Support add/move/change (MAC) activities across production financial‑markets networks
- Configure and troubleshoot Layer‑2 and Layer‑3 network services
- Assist with BGP, OSPF, and IS‑IS routing changes and troubleshooting
- Support NAT configuration and fault isolation (static and dynamic NAT)
- Assist with IP multicast (IGMP, PIM) used for market data distribution
- Perform packet capture and traffic analysis (tcpdump, Wireshark or equivalent)
- Assist with Layer‑1 troubleshooting including physical connectivity and latency‑sensitive paths
- Follow disciplined change, documentation, and operational processes
- Work with senior engineers on automation‑enabled configuration and validation
- Exposure to network‑as‑code practices using structured data (JSON/YAML)
- Assist with templated configuration and automation workflows (e.g., Jinja2, Ansible)
- Follow Git‑based version control and peer‑review workflows for network changes
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience supporting global IP networks
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Arista platforms
- Strong Layer-2 knowledge (VLANs, trunking, STP, LACP)
- Strong Layer-3 fundamentals (BGP basics, OSPF/IS-IS concepts)
- NAT fundamentals and troubleshooting experience
- Multicast fundamentals (IGMP, PIM)
- Packet capture and analysis skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- CCNA or CCNP
- NCIA or JNCIP
