Leidos is seeking a Chief Operations Engineer to lead operational readiness and sustainment for the FLITE+ effort at Buckley Space Force Base. In this mission-critical role, you will provide senior operational leadership for Missile Warning Integration and Test, ensuring uninterrupted system performance and 24/7 mission support.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Chief Operations Engineer for Missile Warning Integration and Test, leading all operational activities across the enterprise
- Provide expert management and mentorship to the operations team, ensuring disciplined execution and continuous 24/7 system availability
- Oversee operational readiness, sustainment, and performance of mission systems, ensuring rapid response to issues and proactive risk mitigation
- Demonstrate mastery across system operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and mission continuity processes
- Advise senior leadership on operational posture, system health, and improvements to enhance reliability and mission assurance
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Proven experience supporting Missile Warning system operations and sustainment
- Demonstrated success leading operational teams in high‑availability, mission‑critical environments
