Lead Structural Dynamics Engineer

RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES is focused on mechanical design for the marine sector, and they are seeking a Lead Structural Dynamics Engineer to oversee the design of rotating machines and power generation systems. The role includes ensuring safe, cost-effective delivery from inquiry to project closure while managing engineering activities and liaising with suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• End-to-end design of rotating machine systems (order → customer handover) with high safety focus
• Integrate large electro-mechanical systems to meet environmental/transversal requirements
• Plan/execute engineering activities to meet schedule/cost/quality, including testing and documentation
• Participate/lead phase reviews, design reviews, ILS reviews, FMEA; chair reviews and drive actions
• Liaise with suppliers for quotations and support site activities
• Ensure issued documents meet required quality and adhere to specifications/standards

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Track record designing mechanical systems professionally
• Ability to perform basic structural design/calculations and mechanical FEA
• Strong rotordynamics understanding (torsional/lateral vibration, shaftlines, bearings, couplings, shock absorption)
• Strong thermal and fluid dynamics knowledge
• Testing/verification/validation experience for rotating equipment
• CAD exposure (AutoCAD/SolidWorks/CREO or similar)
• Basic understanding of electrical + power generation principles
• Sole British citizenship + valid British passport; SC clearance held or obtainable
• Ability to lead a team of engineers
• Project management / project planning experience
• Experience with active magnetic bearings
