About this role
Flexon Technologies is seeking a Mainframe Storage Engineer to manage storage pools and optimize usage. The role involves providing expert support for space allocations, administering IBM DS8K storage systems, and participating in disaster recovery planning and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Manage storage pools and optimize usage
- Provide expert support for space allocations and usage optimization
- Administer and maintain IBM DS8K storage systems
- Support large-scale parallel sysplex environments
- Perform system initialization, performance tuning, and optimization
- Support virtual tape operations (Luminex experience preferred)
- Work with DFHSM for hierarchical storage management
- Utilize FDR, MVSRM for backup/recovery management
- Support IBM GDPS (Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, Metro-Global, Hyperswap)
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution
- Install, upgrade, and maintain IBM/third-party storage products
- Perform SMPE installation and maintenance
- Use DB2 and IMS utilities; JCL, TSO; scripting (Rexx, CLIST)

- Luminex experience preferred
