They are seeking a skilled Controls System Specialist to join their team in Idaho, focusing on the installation, programming, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BAS) with an emphasis on smart HVAC control systems. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring seamless system operation and optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Commission, troubleshoot, and service DDC control systems in commercial buildings to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Perform system startups, execute test sequences of operation, and facilitate smooth project handoffs to clients
- Modify and maintain as-built drawings utilizing Visio, Word, and Excel to reflect system configurations and updates
- Program custom sequences tailored to specific applications involving HVAC, lighting, and energy management systems
- Configure networked BAS communications and set up graphical user interfaces for ease of operation and monitoring
- Backup databases, conduct diagnostics, and recalibrate field devices using meters and laptops to maintain system accuracy
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and service teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
- Act as a technical liaison, serving as the primary point of contact for customers during system installation and service visits
- Maintain detailed records including daily logs, site reports, timesheets, and expense documentation for project tracking and accountability
- Adhere to all safety protocols, ensure secure handling of tools and equipment, and promote a safe work environment at all times
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience working with BAS or DDC controls
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, system networking, and direct digital controls
- Familiarity with commissioning tools, multimeters, and relevant software interfaces
- Comfortable reading schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Additional technical certifications or trade school training
- Experience with communication protocols such as BACnet or Modbus
