The Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving the execution of data and technology strategy, focusing on building data solutions and establishing robust data collection and processing pipelines to fulfill business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and measure complex ELT jobs to process disparate data sources, ensuring the creation of high-integrity, high-quality, and clean data assets to support business needs
- Execute and provide feedback on data modeling policies, procedures, processes, and standards to ensure consistency and best practices across projects
- Assist in capturing and documenting system flow, technical specifications, database design, and system architecture to facilitate ongoing maintenance and enhancements
- Develop comprehensive data quality standards and implement effective tools and processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability
- Collaborate with various Investment Management departments to understand new data patterns, requirements, and opportunities for optimization
- Work closely with Data Analysts, Data Architects, and Business Intelligence developers to design and develop scalable data solutions aligned with organizational goals
- Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical specifications, ensuring solutions meet operational and strategic objectives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data analytics, data modeling, and database design
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with ELT methodologies and tools
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, tuning, and troubleshooting SQL, with a minimum of 5 years in this area
- 3 or more years of coding and scripting experience in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- 2+ years of experience working with the Spark framework
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Proven track record of working collaboratively across teams
