Parsons Corporation is a company that values innovation and growth, seeking a Software Engineer with a passion for developing web-based data visualization tools. The role involves working with complex data flows and requires collaboration across multi-functional teams to implement effective solutions for the US Army Pacific customer.
Responsibilities:
- Experience with both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries
- Coordinate across multi-functional teams to formulate, prototype, implement and fine-tune solutions
- Conduct performance tuning, testing, refactoring, usability, and automation activities; implement UI/UX requirements via responsive frameworks and design systems
- Review and write clean code, resolve and troubleshoot errors, and apply constant refactoring to address cumbersome or faulty code
- Identify and integrate various data sources (e.g. APIs, file systems, databases); develop and maintain data pipelines to automate the ingestion of source data
- Ensure data is stored securely and can be accessed efficiently by downstream applications and users
- Monitor, optimize, and document workflow and data storage for performance, reliability, and to ensure compliance with data governance policies
Requirements:
- 5+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; will consider experience in lieu of degree
- 5+ years' experience working in a multi-skilled team environment collaborating on data integration
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Scala)
- Understanding of AWS cloud platform and services
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g. Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, or Hadoop)
- Experience with data integration and ETL tools (e.g. Apache NiFi, Talend, or Informatica)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to convey complex issues in an easy-to-understand manner
- Active DoD Secret-level security clearance
- Active DoD TS/SCI-level security clearance
- Previous experience supporting an INDOPACOM or US Army customer
- Experience supporting INDOPACOM intelligence and/or operations
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Knowledge of servers operating systems; Windows, Linux, Distributed Computing, and cloud infrastructure
