Geologics Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Firewall Engineer to join their Cybersecurity Engineering Team in a remote role. The position involves designing, implementing, and managing network security systems to protect their global network, as well as collaborating with the Global Security Operations Center to support their needs.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, manage, and maintain network security systems, including firewalls and web proxy systems
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including installation guides, network diagrams, configuration guides, and user tutorials
- Research, prototype, and implement new security-related technology solutions to enhance our security posture
- Provide backup support to other engineers with enterprise tools, including learning new tools and software solutions
- Collaborate with our 24/7 Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) to support their needs and respond to user requests via phone, email, or incident management system
- Analyze network traffic patterns, security requirements, and future growth requirements to inform technical assessments and risk mitigation strategies
Requirements:
- US Citizenship is REQUIRED for this defense industry role
- 14+ Years of directly relevant experience with HS diploma, 10+ Years with AA. 8+ Years with BS or 6+ Years with MS
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, including DNS, TCP/IP, and other common transport protocols
- Solid grasp of networking and security principles
- Experience implementing firewall technologies from vendors such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Check Point, or Juniper SRX
- Firewall policy development, implementation, and management experience
- Firewall configuration and deployment experience, including: + Network configuration (e.g., VLANs, subnets) + Routing configuration (e.g., static routes, OSPF) + Rule configuration (e.g., access control lists, security policies)
- One or more industry-recognized certifications (Security+, Network+, Palo Alto Networks, or CISCO)
