The Senior Director of Product Management for Data Security & Data Protection Services will lead the strategy and execution of hybrid platform services, ensuring secure and compliant data operations across various environments.
Responsibilities:
- Owning and delivering a clear hybrid and data protection product strategy aligned to Teradata’s enterprise analytics and AI platform vision
- Defining a multi-year roadmap for hybrid platform services, including deployment flexibility, data mobility, backup, recovery, resiliency, and compliance
- Ensuring Teradata’s platforms support enterprise-grade data protection capabilities such as backup/restore, disaster recovery, high availability, and ransomware resilience
- Enabling seamless operation of Teradata Vantage and VantageCloud across public cloud, private cloud, and customer-managed infrastructure
- Leading and developing a high-performing team of product managers, setting clear priorities, coaching talent, and driving accountability
- Partnering with engineering to ensure security, reliability, performance, and lifecycle management are built into platform services by design
- Collaborating with alliances and partners (e. g. , OEMs, cloud providers) to deliver validated architectures, reference solutions, and joint offerings
- Supporting go-to-market teams with enterprise-ready positioning, customer narratives, and executive-level engagements
- Ensuring all hybrid and data protection capabilities align with Teradata’s principles of security, responsibility, transparency, and trust
Requirements:
- 15+ years of product management experience in enterprise software, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, or platform services
- Proven people leadership experience, including building, managing, and scaling product management teams at Director level or above
- Strong background in hybrid cloud platforms, enterprise infrastructure, or distributed systems
- Deep understanding of data protection services, including backup and recovery, disaster recovery, high availability, data resilience, and compliance
- Experience delivering platform-level services that support mission-critical enterprise workloads
- Familiarity with Teradata Vantage, VantageCloud, or large-scale analytics/data warehouse platforms
- Experience working with OEM and cloud partners (e.g., Dell, hyperscalers) on joint solutions, integrations, or validated architectures
- Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear product strategy and execution plans
- Strong executive communication skills and the ability to influence across engineering, sales, partners, and leadership teams
- Foundational understanding of AI and analytics workloads, particularly how data protection and hybrid deployment impact AI readiness
- Prior experience working with Dell technologies (e.g., PowerScale, PowerStore, PowerEdge, APEX) or similar enterprise infrastructure platforms
- Background in enterprise data warehouse or analytics platforms running in hybrid or customer-managed environments
- Experience defining reference architectures, validated designs, or enterprise deployment patterns
- Strong understanding of enterprise security, compliance, data sovereignty, and regulatory requirements
- Exposure to AI-enabled analytics platforms and how data protection and hybrid architectures support AI workloads
- Passion for building resilient, secure, and scalable hybrid data platforms that customers can trust with their most critical data
