Providence Health & Services is a comprehensive health care organization dedicated to serving vulnerable communities. They are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to develop sophisticated cloud-native data pipelines and establish data governance policies while mentoring aspiring engineers and collaborating with various teams to enhance operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop sophisticated cloud-native data pipelines from sources
- Develop matching and survivorship strategies, reference data hierarchies, and integration of mastered data sets to user consumption layers
- Develop Data Protection policies, scanning workflows, and tools for users to seamlessly explore and utilize our data
- Mentor aspiring engineers and establish repeatable processes
- Advocate for clean source control and explore the possibilities with emerging tools, data science, DevOps, and Agile methodologies
- Design fault-tolerant systems and work collaboratively in real-time with teams across Product, Platform, and Architecture
- Build resilient, secure, and high-value applications that enhance operations and deliver tangible results
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering -OR- a combination of equivalent education and experience
- 5 or more years of related experience
- Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering -OR- a combination of equivalent education and experience
- 8 or more years of data development experience
- 5 or more years of experience in Data Engineering including data integration
- 2 or more years of experience in Master Data Management
- 2 or more years of experience in Data Governance
- Expertise in designing and building cloud-native data solutions (pipelines, transformations, enrichment, provisioning layers, and UIs)
- Experience with data warehousing, big data ecosystems, enterprise search
- Excellent real-time communication with developers, product managers, and customers to achieve shared goals
