Convera is a global leader transforming the way businesses move money across borders, and they are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager specializing in financial institutions. This role involves driving revenue growth by acquiring and developing strategic client relationships in the cross-border payments and FX space, while providing consultative selling of FX and payment solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, target, and acquire new clients in key sectors (e.g., financial institutions, money service businesses, fintech and other regulated financial institutions)
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers and stakeholders
- Act as a trusted advisor on FX risk management and cross-border payment strategies
- Provide consultative selling of Convera’s FX and payment solutions, including hedging strategies, spot and forward contracts, and payment automation tools
- Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to position Convera as a thought leader
- Work closely with internal teams (Product, Compliance, Operations) to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices in business development
Requirements:
- 7+ years in business development or sales within cross-border payments, FX, or financial services
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets in a B2B environment
- Experience navigating complex FI buying processes including compliance, risk, treasury, and operations teams
- Deep understanding of the regulatory and operational frameworks under which banks, MSBs, and fintech's operate
- Strong understanding of FX markets, hedging instruments, and international payment processes
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in global payments and financial compliance
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver innovative solutions
