Network Security Engineer

Core4ce is a team of innovators dedicated to strengthening national security and advancing warfighting outcomes. As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of complex network security architectures for the Defense Health Agency, managing a team and providing expert recommendations on networking products.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical aspects of network security projects, providing direction and support to engineering teams
• Design, develop, and implement sophisticated network security architectures, contributing to the resolution of complex problems within a large-scale network environment
• Evaluate emerging technologies such as SD-WAN, Zero Trust frameworks, Passive Optical Networks, and Network Access Control solutions for potential deployment within the DHA enterprise
• Provide expert recommendations to government leadership on the selection and integration of networking products
• Play a crucial role in the development and implementation of DHA’s Comply-to-connect program, focusing on network authentication and device identification processes
• Produce detailed technical documentation, including white papers and information papers that outline testing protocols, design specifications, and recommendations
• Design and oversee the implementation of firewall solutions across 240+ clinical locations, driving significant cost savings and enhancing network security
• Manage and mentor a team of nine personnel, fostering professional growth and ensuring project alignment with organizational objectives
• This position is designed to be flexible, with responsibilities evolving to meet business needs and enable individual growth

Requirements:

• Proven experience in network security and engineering, preferably within a defense or large enterprise environment
• Demonstrated capability in the design, testing, configuration, and implementation of network security devices and systems
• Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising and mentoring technical teams
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate under pressure
• Proficient in creating and managing comprehensive technical documentation
• Knowledge of current industry trends, technologies, and security practices
• Experience with DHA systems and processes is highly preferred
• Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with government leadership and technical teams
