Alteryx is seeking a Lead Product Designer who will guide product vision and drive high-quality design across multiple teams. This role involves strategic design leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring junior designers to create user-centered experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Design Leadership
- Drive end-to-end design for major initiatives
- Translate insights into product direction and scalable UX
- Work with product and engineering leadership to define and communicate long term vision
- Cross Functional Collaboration and Influence
- Communicate design direction through clear storytelling, visual concepts, and narrative artifacts
- Drive alignment between executives, product leaders, and delivery teams
- Facilitate conversations that create clarity around scope, tradeoffs, and user needs
- Influence product strategy beyond your immediate team and help set org level experience goals
- Mentor junior designers and model effective collaboration
- Elevate design quality and evolve our processes
- Establish documentation standards and QA touchpoints
- Execution & Visual Design
- Create storyboards, high fidelity mocks, prototypes, and system diagrams to communicate ideas
- Explore new patterns, technologies, and industry trends to inform design direction
- Balance multiple projects while maintaining clarity, quality, and forward progress
Requirements:
- 6–10 years of experience designing complex, user-facing products
- Proficient with Figma
- Lead design critiques, provide feedback, and help raise the quality bar across the org
- Improve team processes, including documentation, workflow practices, and quality checks
- Skilled in systems thinking and information architecture
- Able to work in both structured enterprise environments and fast moving startup conditions
- Strategic, hands-on, and growth-minded
- Led or helped evolve design systems
- Shaped multi-pillar initiatives
- Experience working with AI powered workflows or complex data systems
- Used storytelling, vision concepts, or future state prototypes to drive organizational alignment
