About this role
Mastech Digital is seeking a Healthcare IT Consultant specializing in Oracle Cerner (PathNet). The role involves analyzing and optimizing laboratory workflows, supporting EHR/LIS implementations, and acting as a liaison between EHR vendors and lab users.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and optimize laboratory workflows (general lab, micro, transfusion, anatomic pathology)
- Support Cerner Millennium (PathNet) design/build validation and requirements documentation
- Act as liaison between EHR vendors, integrators, and lab users
- Plan and execute testing, validation, and go-live readiness
- Support LIS/EHR migrations and cutover planning
- Support lab interfaces, results routing, and HL7 troubleshooting
- Assist with training, go-live support, and adoption
- Support regulatory and quality activities
- Provide PMO support (risk/issues, schedules, status, meetings)
- Translate needs into functional specifications
Requirements:
- 3+ years supporting healthcare IT in a clinical, operational, or analyst role with exposure to laboratory workflows
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cerner Millennium; preference for PathNet
- Experience with EHR/LIS implementations or migrations (requirements, testing, go-live, sustainment)
- Working knowledge of interfaces/integrations, including HL7 and lab result flows
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with clinical, lab, and technical teams
- Experience creating workflow maps, requirements, test evidence, decision briefs, and status reports
- Experience providing PMO support
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- Experience supporting federal or large enterprise modernization programs
- Familiarity with reference lab connectivity (LabCorp, Quest)
- Experience with Cerner PowerChart components (mPages, PowerForms, Event Set Hierarchy)
- Oracle Cerner/Millennium certification
- PMP, Agile, or Scrum credentials
- Experience with lab quality/regulatory support (CAP, SOPs, audits)
- Knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH
