Vera Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. The Senior Director HR Business Partner will be responsible for building and driving the People Strategy for the R&D & Program Management Functions, partnering with HR experts to align the strategy with corporate goals and enhance the overall employee experience.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for developing the People Strategy to enable both short-and-long term functional goals in alignment with Vera’s Corporate goals
- Partner with HR subject matter experts to enable the People Strategy, specifically: TA to support attracting and hiring critical talent
- Total Rewards to design compensation and benefits to support the hiring, retaining and recognition of employees
- Employee relations to build people manager capability and ensure proactive management of performance
- Communications to support change management and other initiatives
- Talent development to support leadership growth and succession
- Routinely assess the organizational needs as the business evolves to ensure the People Strategy is aligned to goals and meeting business needs
- Advise and coach senior leaders in solving complex issues related to organization design, development, and change leadership
- Participate and lead as appropriate corporate-wide programs that enhance the overall employee experience and support company growth and success overall
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related, relevant discipline
- 12+ years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience developing and implementing HR strategies in biotechnology required
- Expert-level experience developing strategic workforce plans, from conception to implementation
- A demonstrated history of success in supporting client groups in a consultive role
- In depth knowledge of organizational development, process management, and change management
- Brings a track record of being both an advocate for their business unit and a model and representative of strong HR best practices
- Experience managing and mentoring successful HR talent
- Experience conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations with appropriate management recommendations
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to educate and influence through formal and informal communications
- Highly experienced in talent management, succession planning, and career growth and development
- Strong experience managing and/or leading culture and change management or organizational effectiveness initiatives
- Recognition of the importance of being highly responsive to the needs of senior management, colleagues and staff
- Understanding of related employment laws, concepts and practices related to the administration of a variety of human resources programs
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethic and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complicated tasks
- Experience with the design and delivery of Sales Incentive programs preferred
