Brooksource is seeking a detail-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer to support analytics, reporting, and data visualization initiatives for a Fortune 500 Healthcare Insurance company. The ideal candidate will design and deliver scalable data solutions to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support operational and strategic business needs
- Build and optimize data models within Power BI for efficient querying and performance
- Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for analytics, reporting, and data transformation
- Work with large datasets within Snowflake, including schema design, data ingestion, transformation, and performance tuning
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting layers
- Troubleshoot reporting issues and provide ongoing support for BI tools and data pipelines
- Leverage healthcare domain expertise to support regulatory reporting, claims data analysis, and operational metrics
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in BI engineering, data analytics, or data engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (DAX, data modeling, report development)
- Advanced proficiency in SQL (query optimization, stored procedures, complex joins, window functions)
- Experience working with Snowflake (data modeling, warehouse structures, performance tuning)
- Prior experience in the healthcare industry, including familiarity with claims, EMR/EHR data, clinical or payer data, or regulatory reporting
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (ETL/ELT, star/snowflake schemas)
- Ability to work cross-functionally and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g., DBT, Informatica, Matillion, Azure Data Factory)
- Knowledge of Python or another scripting language for data manipulation
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy standards
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
