Sr Product Designer I

Byte by Yum! is the technology organization behind Yum! Brands, enabling global platforms used by iconic brands such as KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut. As a Senior Designer I, you will lead the design of complex POS workflows and features that directly impact restaurant efficiency and staff experience.

Responsibilities:

• Lead UX design for complex POS features and workflows from discovery through delivery
• Translate operational and business requirements into clear, intuitive user experiences
• Drive experience strategy within assigned POS feature areas, aligning design decisions to user, operational, and business outcomes
• Define interaction patterns, workflows, and reusable components that scale across use cases and markets
• Apply principles of simplicity, consistency, error prevention, and recovery across all designs
• Independently resolve complex UX problems using sound judgment where precedent may not exist
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Research to align on scope, tradeoffs, and feasibility
• Contribute to and refine shared design systems, patterns, and documentation
• Clearly communicate design rationale and tradeoffs to cross-functional partners

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in UX or product design for complex software systems
• Strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of end-to-end UX for sophisticated workflows
• Proven ability to independently lead design work with minimal supervision
• Experience selecting and applying appropriate design methods to solve complex problems
• Demonstrated ability to influence design decisions within a product area
• Proficiency with standard design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, usability testing tools, design systems)
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
• Experience designing POS, transactional, or enterprise operational systems
• Experience designing products used across multiple markets or localized contexts
