Data Engineer

Educational Systems FCU has proudly served the education community for 70 years. The Data Engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing the data infrastructure, focusing on developing, deploying, and managing data engineering projects to support AI and Data Analytics strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Developing, deploying, and managing data engineering projects
• Assist the VP of Emerging Technologies in architecting the data platform (on premise, cloud and hybrid)
• Data pipeline development
• Data governance and performance monitoring
• Use AI in support of data management capabilities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in data engineering, Information Systems or related technical field
• 5+ years' experience in data engineering (building data pipes, data lakes, data warehouse)
• Proficient in constructing and managing modern data warehouse and data lake house architectures
• Skilled in building and maintaining robust data pipelines and orchestrations, with a focus on scalability and reliability
• Deep knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes for data transformation and integration
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience with orchestration tools
• Data Governance - Data Quality Controls, General Ledger Reconciliations, Transmission and interface controls
• Proficient in SQL
• Proficient in Python
• Experience in data storage frameworks (Apache Spark, Databricks, or Hadoop)
• Banking & Financial Services data domain knowledge
