Backend Software Engineer, Growth

OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity. The role involves joining the ChatGPT Growth team as a backend engineer to drive long-term growth through data analysis, product ideation, and experimentation, while collaborating with various teams to optimize product experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Drive long-term growth of ChatGPT through a combination of data analysis, product ideation, and experimentation to optimize product experiences
• Partner with iOS, Android, and fullstack engineers to Plan and deploy backend systems necessary to power these product experiences
• Execute on projects by working closely with research, product, design, data science and other members of product teams to land impact on product goals
• Create a diverse and inclusive culture that makes all feel welcome while enabling radical candor and the challenging of group-think

Requirements:

• Experience as a backend engineer
• Ability to drive long-term growth through data analysis, product ideation, and experimentation
• Experience in planning and deploying backend systems
• Ability to execute projects by collaborating with research, product, design, data science, and other product team members
• Commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive culture
• Experience shipping features that optimize user funnels
• Highly analytical with experience designing and implementing A/B tests
• Strong understanding of tracking business metrics and KPIs
• Ability to dive deep into data for insights
• Desire to learn and fill in missing skills
• Ability to share information clearly and concisely
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions
