The Manager I, Project Management role is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing project management operations, managing a team of project managers, and leading client and enterprise initiatives in a multi-project healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of project managers assigned to strategic programs and client implementations
- Ensure the team adheres to standardized project methodology, tools, and best practices
- Assign resources effectively across projects, ensuring alignment with budget, timeline, and scope
- Drive accountability by ensuring timely completion of all project tasks, milestones, and deliverables
- Maintain end‑to‑end ownership of the implementation lifecycle for multiple concurrent client projects
- Prepare and maintain detailed project artifacts—including timelines, schedules, RACI, agendas, status reports, and training plans
- Utilize Microsoft Project (or equivalent tools) with expert proficiency to track progress and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Ensure all business and functional requirements are documented, version‑controlled, and stored in accessible systems (ServiceNow, Azure, JIRA, etc.)
- Partner closely with Product, IT, Retail teams, and Operations to ensure smooth project execution
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client implementations, effectively managing client expectations and fostering strong relationships
- Facilitate key milestone meetings including kickoff, requirements sessions, cutover planning, and deployment support
- Communicate project status clearly and consistently to stakeholders, leadership, and cross‑functional partners
- Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and dependencies; develop mitigation strategies and escalate as needed
- Review technical and business documentation for accuracy, quality, and alignment with project objectives
- Conduct post‑implementation reviews to identify efficiencies, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Apply industry trends and knowledge of financial services, payments, and healthcare to enhance client solutions
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support evolving business needs
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as an Implementation Manager, Project Manager, or subject matter expert in complex technical environments
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Office 365, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, ServiceNow, Confluence, JIRA, and similar project tools
- Working knowledge of technical system concepts and integrations
- Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to influence without authority
- Experience in card processing, payments, or healthcare strongly preferred
- PMP certification or active pursuit of certification preferred
