Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern

Vexra Engineering is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Intern to join their Engineering Research & Development team. The intern will support the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and consumer access control products, providing hands-on experience in mechanical design and engineering analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing and modifying mechanical components and assemblies
• Create 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software (Creo or equivalent)
• Support prototype development and product testing activities
• Perform basic engineering calculations related to stress, strain, and material selection
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and product demonstrations
• Assist in troubleshooting and basic failure analysis
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
• Maintain documentation according to engineering standards
• Follow workplace health and safety policies

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles
• Familiarity with materials, statics, and dynamics concepts
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with 3D CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD)
• Basic knowledge of plastic injection molding or sheet metal design
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
