Hyper Solutions Inc. is a leading provider of innovative electrical power distribution solutions tailored for data centers and critical infrastructure environments. The Applications Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting the design, configuration, and technical validation of electrical power distribution solutions, collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Sales and customers to develop and configure data center power distribution solutions that meet technical, operational, and commercial requirements
- Create, review, and approve pre-sale technical designs, one-line diagrams, and solution configurations to support RFQs and proposals
- Ensure all solutions comply with applicable standards and industry codes, including NEC, UL, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, and IEEE
- Evaluate customer specifications and provide technical guidance for Tier I-IV data center architectures and mission-critical power systems
- Prepare detailed submittal packages post-project award, including drawings, bills of material, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to support product configuration, lead-time alignment, and design clarification
- Support the development and maintenance of configuration tools and standardized engineering workflows
- Serve as a technical resource for switchboards, PDUs, RPPs, STSs, transformers, breakers, metering, and power quality systems
- Assist with technical responses to RFIs and RFPs, customer presentations, and design reviews
- Support factory acceptance testing, field issue resolution, and technical training for internal teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for application standards, tools, and documentation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related field
- Experience working within data center or critical power infrastructure environments
- Strong understanding of switchboards, PDUs, RPPs, STSs, transformers, and low-voltage distribution systems
- Solid grasp of one-line diagrams, system architecture, and electrical equipment configuration
- Familiarity with RFQ/RFI/RFP processes
- Customer specification review
- Compliance standards such as NEC, UL, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, and IEEE
- Working knowledge of LV switchboard design and manufacturing considerations
- Knowledge of protective devices like thermal magnetic breakers and MCCBs
- Knowledge of metering systems and power quality solutions
- Excellent technical communication skills for effective interfacing with customers, sales teams, and engineering colleagues
