Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. is a leading global provider of innovative aircraft seating solutions. The Aircraft Seating Project Engineer will coordinate technical activities related to the design, development, and certification of aircraft seats, ensuring compliance with aviation standards and facilitating communication among various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of aircraft seat design and certification, including collaboration with designers, engineers, electrical specialists, and certification personnel
- Develop project plans, schedules, and track engineering tasks, providing detailed progress reports to management
- Translate customer requirements into technical specifications, ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed expectations
- Respond to customer concerns by implementing design modifications that adhere to regulatory standards and customer needs
- Facilitate design meetings to address engineering issues, design changes, and customer requests
- Support sourcing and manufacturing by providing accurate bills of materials and technical documentation
- Draft and coordinate approval of Service Bulletins for seat modifications, liaising with airworthiness authorities
- Conduct root cause analysis on Material Review Board (MRB) actions and present resolutions across departments
- Engage with external suppliers during the design process to ensure quality and compliance
- Participate in remote meetings with international teams, applying engineering expertise to manufacturing and development topics
- Verify material selection and usage according to advanced technical standards
- Monitor capacity planning and ensure timely completion of engineering tasks on assigned projects
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering is required, with 2-7 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and training
- Proven expertise in manufacturing processes and aircraft interior design is essential
- Hands-on experience with aircraft documentation systems for after-sales support, such as CMM and SB, as well as configuration control systems
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 or similar CAD software is mandatory, with a minimum of 2 years' experience
- Strong knowledge of CFR, EASA CS, (E)TSO regulations, and parts list management with high variant diversity
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global team environment
- Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally as required
- Familiarity with PLM database systems such as Teamcenter, Agile, or Enovia is preferred
