Machine Learning Engineer

DRISHTICON Inc is a young and promising AI startup seeking a Staff Applied Backend / ML Engineer to lead the design and implementation of AI-driven systems. This hands-on role involves architecting distributed backend services, building machine learning pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape the platform's AI strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Architecting distributed backend services
• Building and deploying machine learning pipelines
• Translating ambiguous business problems into robust, measurable solutions
• Design high-performance APIs and data workflows
• Productionize models (training, evaluation, inference, monitoring)
• Ensure reliability, security, and scalability across cloud environments
• Set technical standards
• Mentor engineers
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and data teams
• Play a key role in shaping the long-term architecture and AI strategy of the platform

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in architecting distributed backend services
• Building and deploying machine learning pipelines
• Translating ambiguous business problems into robust, measurable solutions
• Designing high-performance APIs and data workflows
• Productionizing models (training, evaluation, inference, monitoring)
• Ensuring reliability, security, and scalability across cloud environments
• Deep backend engineering expertise (Python/Java, REST/gRPC, SQL/NoSQL, event-driven systems)
• Practical ML experience (feature engineering, embeddings, model serving, experimentation frameworks)
• Strong sense of ownership from prototype to hardened production systems
• Setting technical standards
• Mentoring engineers
• Collaborating cross-functionally with product and data teams
• Shaping the long-term architecture and AI strategy of the platform
