Principal AI Engineer (LLM/Agents) - Dubai Timezone

RecT Solutions is supporting a leading global EdTech company in their search for a Principal AI Engineer. The role involves building and evolving an AI tutoring system, collaborating with educators and product teams, and ensuring quality and safety in production systems.

Responsibilities:

• Build and evolve the core AI tutoring system, including prompt architectures, agentic workflows, tool use, and real-time adaptive behaviors
• Run rigorous experimentation and evaluation; create custom metrics/frameworks to measure learning effectiveness and improve reliability
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable software integrating AI capabilities with platform systems, content pipelines, and UX components
• Collaborate with educators, content creators, and product teams to translate pedagogical goals into technical solutions
• Productionize novel model interactions and ensure quality, safety, and observability via monitoring, testing, and guardrails
• Share knowledge and raise the bar through mentorship and clear technical leadership

Requirements:

• 5–7+ years of hands-on AI/ML engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production systems (not just prototypes)
• Strong experience building complex LLM-based systems (prompt/program design, agentic patterns, reliability, evaluation)
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals and architecture skills; strong Python; comfortable with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD
• Background in education/tutoring/learning products (or deep interest in learning science) and strong empathy for learners
• Builder mindset: comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end and simplifying systems without losing capability
