Simulation Software Engineer Intern

Elsevier Inc. is a global leader in information and analytics, and they are seeking a Simulation Software Engineering Intern to join their team. This internship offers hands-on experience in developing interactive web-based simulations for nursing and healthcare education, contributing to real products while learning in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and improvement of interactive software simulations
• Work with a cross-functional team to understand product goals and user needs
• Write, test, and improve code under the guidance of experienced engineers
• Participate in team planning, reviews, and continuous improvement activities
• Learn and apply software engineering best practices and team workflows
• Help identify and solve technical issues in a clear, thoughtful way
• Document work to support shared understanding and future development

Requirements:

• Be currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field of study with a graduation date of May 2027
• Demonstrate basic understanding of programming and software development concepts, including data structures and algorithm development
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles
• Display an interest in learning tools such as game engines or simulation platforms, such as Unity 3D Game Engine
• Possess experience with or willingness to learn source control systems such as Plastic, SCM, and Git
• Possess effective written and verbal communication skills to document findings and share ideas clearly
• Be able to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Be self-driven and open to receiving and applying constructive feedback
