PSE is a company focused on people and problem-solving, seeking an experienced Transmission Planning and Interconnection Engineer with expertise in PSCAD software. The role involves leading transmission modeling, analysis, and interconnection projects, providing technical guidance, and managing project timelines and client communications.
Responsibilities:

- Lead transmission planning and interconnection projects from start to finish
- Develop, validate, and maintain transmission system models for steady-state and dynamic studies
- Conduct comprehensive transmission analysis and studies independently, ensuring accurate, actionable results
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members throughout projects
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and client communications
- Deliver recommendations and solutions based on study outcomes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in transmission planning, modeling, or interconnection studies
- Demonstrate proficiency in applying NERC reliability standards and IEEE technical guidelines to transmission studies and interconnection evaluations
- In-depth knowledge of power system analysis, transmission planning, and grid interconnection processes
- Expertise in PSCAD software to lead EMT model development, benchmarking, analysis, and interconnection support with a strong proficiency in automation and scripting
- Knowledge of transmission protection concepts and industry-standard relaying practices (e.g., NERC PRC standards) as they relate to steady-state and dynamic system analysis
- Possess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner
- Use effective communication skills (both written and oral), be customer-driven, and display teamwork behavior
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
- Eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required
- Preferred background includes transmission planning and interconnection project experience
- Experience with other industry tools is a plus, including PSS®E, ASPEN, AutoCAD, PSLF, TARA, and TSAT
- Experience with renewable energy projects (wind, solar, storage) and their integration into the electric grid
